Dough To Go
Did you know that roughly 1/3 of global greenhouse gas emissions are a result of our global food system and the waste it produces?(usda.gov) That’s roughly 11 billion tons of GHGe every year. Furthermore, about 20% of the global population lives in moderate to severe food insecurity(ers.usda.gov) which is roughly 1.6 billion people.
We intend to fight both food insecurity and food waste head on. Our objectives are simple:

Reduce food waste at the source.

Improve the level of food security within low-income communities.

Educate and empower the local community members in sustainable agricultural practices.

Encourage and support the development of local food distribution channels.

Amarumayu
We probably don't need to remind you of the alarming deforestation in the Amazon and its catastrophic effects on both the climate and the indigenous populations in the region. Roughly 10 acres of rainforest is destroyed every minute, displacing millions and offsetting the global ecosystem that relies on this region. (csc.columbusstate.edu)

​​Amarumayu is a global program based in the heart of the Amazon, Peru. Today, the fires in the Amazon caused by rampant deforestation have destroyed the lives and homes of millions. Having witnessed the catastrophic consequences of the Amazon Rainforest destruction, from displaced indigenous populations to the escalating damage to the environment, we've banded together as a small group of passionate youth from across the globe who are dedicated to fighting against the devastating destruction of this region. We adhere to the following goals:

1. Bringing education about the Amazon throughout the world
2. Providing an avenue of support that has a direct impact- for ANYONE interested in helping
3. Uplifting the indigenous voices of the region, whose lives are in danger
As part of Amarumayu's dedication to cultivating a global community of youth in support of the Amazon, we're developing an immersive, educational trivia app centered on the Amazon Rainforest complete with games and challenges. As users complete challenges and maintain a daily streak, they will earn points that convert into real-world donations. Their impact is visualized with advanced AI and satellite tracking technology to demonstrate the real effects they have on the Amazon.
